Have bulging filler bags under your eyes, lumpy lips, filler placed in areas that do not appear natural, or another condition from a dermal filler mishap? Need under eye filler correction, lip filler correction, or filler reversal?
After experiencing disappointing results patients come to Estetica for corrective treatment. With safe technique and goal of natural results – our injectors are well-trained to correct and retreat areas that are commonly in need of corrective treatment.
Anyone who has had under eye fillers, lip fillers, chin fillers, or any other hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers in the face and is unhappy with the results may be a good candidate for dermal filler correction and filler dissolving. Patients who have had their unflattering injections for several months already may want to let the filler dissipate naturally, but anyone who feels self-conscious about how their fillers look may want to consider this procedure for immediate improvement.
Patients will need to schedule an initial consultation before moving forward with dermal filler correction. During the consultation, you will be able to discuss your goals for the treatment and the desired outcome. Your injector will assess the area where the patient would like to have the filler removed and discuss options to have the filler corrected through the injectable Hylenex (hyaluronidase) treatment. Your injector may request that you reach out to the injector that placed the filler to dissolve it before moving forward with re-injection. Your options will be discussed at the consult.
Dissolving unwanted fillers is simple, safe, and effective. It is performed using an injectable substance known as Hylenex (hyaluronidase). This substance is injected underneath the skin through a small needle placed in the area of the filler to be removed. To ensure comfort during the injection process, the patient sometimes requires a local anesthetic for this treatment. Results of the treatment can be seen within minutes after injection. The hyaluronidase continues to do its work for up to three days after the procedure. While Hylenex injections do not always need to be repeated, sometimes this is necessary to dissolve all of the filler. It is important to know that only certain fillers can be reversed.
After treatment you may have some bruising and swelling temporarily. Your injector will give you aftercare instructions to follow. After dissolving has been completed, you will have a follow up appointment. At the follow up re-injection will be discussed if there is still a concern. This will be something that is discussed between you and your injector to ensure the best possible result.
