What Can I Expect During A Filler Treatment?

Consultation

A thorough consultation is one of the most critical parts to successful treatment with dermal fillers. Your injector will discuss your concerns as well as your medical history to determine if dermal fillers are an appropriate treatment for you. A customized treatment plan will be discussed during this time as well to ensure the best results. Our providers will also take "before" photos during this time so we can follow your progress through your aesthetic journey.

Pre-Injection

The injector will cleanse your face with topical sanitizers and then apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort during your injections. The filler also includes lidocaine which helps minimize discomfort during treatment. The provider will also prepare the dermal filler and gather any other supplies during this time. The provider may also have you perform a range of facial movements to see how your facial movements affect your fine lines and wrinkles. From there, the injector may use a facial pencil to "map" out your facial features to help guide the injections for the most natural and customized result.

Treatment

The injector will then use a needle and/or blunt tip cannula to administer the filler after you have been properly cleansed again. The injector may continue to assess and have you express multiple times throughout the treatment to ensure the best results. While not pain-free, Estetica MedSpa offers multiple comfort measures in addition to the numbing to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Typically treatment lasts 30-45 minutes depending on the area(s) being treated.

What Can I Expect After A Filler Treatment?

Results

Results can be seen immediately. You may have some bruising and swelling following the injections. This may cause some minor asymmetry at first. Do not love or hate your filler until at least a few weeks after your treatment. We will schedule a 2 week follow up to make sure everything is integrating appropriately. Result duration varies depending on the area treated and the filler used and will be discussed during your consultation.
