What Is Botox/Dysport?
Botox/Dysport are considered anti-wrinkle injections. The anti-wrinkle injection treatments work below the skin’s surface to target the underlying muscle activity, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Typical treatment areas are the 11 lines between the eyebrows, the horizontal forehead lines, and lines around the eyes also known as crow’s feet. There are many other cosmetic and medical uses for Botox, including hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) treatment and TMJ treatments.
What Can I Expect During Botox/Dysport Treatment?
Botox injections treatment sessions take anywhere from 10-15 minutes to complete. Together, you and your injector will determine the ideal treatment plan tailored to target your particular needs. Anti-wrinkle injection treatments are safe, quick and relatively painless. Your injector will administer small injections to the targeted muscle locations with a very fine microneedle. Prior to your treatment you and your injector will discuss your needs and the look that you are trying to achieve. Based on your discussion the injector will decide upon dosage amounts.
How Long Does Botox/Dysport Last?
Botox/Dysport treatment results take approximately 3-10 days to be seen. Some treated areas may take quicker than others, so we recommend waiting a full two weeks before returning for refinements if needed. A lot of the time, any concerns are resolved once the treatment has fully settled. In order to maintain your result we recommend that you re-treat the area approximately every 3-4 months. You want to be re-treated before reaching full contraction of that muscle. You can discontinue treatment at any time and if you choose to do so the treated area will return to the way it was before treatment.
